Easily Recover Your Deleted / Lost Files

It is well known fact that despite reliable storage devices, loss of files from any device is almost inevitable.  Due to hardware and software glitches, frequent power cuts, software malfunctions or human errors data loss has become so common.

Luckily now we have many my file recovery software data loss can be recoverable.

This article stresses on common file loss scenarios and prospective of data recovery in present situation.

How you might loose files from storage media

 Deletion of file or folder:

 Depending on the file system, each OS operates differently to delete a file. For example  in Windows FAT file system the OS marks file directory entries as unused and destroys file allocation information (except beginning of file), for NTFS – just deletes record from directory and marks disk space as unused;
The main purpose of each file deletion is to release storage space used by the file for a new file. Storage space is not wiped immediately to ensure that actual file data remain on the disk until this storage space is used again.

File allocation table format

Format procedure creates empty file system structures on the storage and overwrites any information below. If file system types coincide, it destroys existing file system structures by overwriting them with the new ones; if file system types differ – the structures are written to different locations and may destroy user data.

Damage of file system

Due to Power failure or fluctuation sometimes logical damages are also caused. Modern file systems have a high level of protection against file system logical damages, nevertheless, it is useless against hardware or software malfunctions. Even small piece of wrong data written to a valid location on the storage may destroy file system structures, break file system object links and make file system non-readable and at times it seems impossible for my file recovery.

Hard drive issues

If you detect any physical problems on hard drive (e.g. computer doesn’t start, makes unusual noises, overheats much, has problems to read data etc.),  If a failure has occurred to a RAID system which redundancy allows to recover data without single storage (one drive failure for RAID5, no more than two drives failure for RAID6 etc.), it’s possible to recover data without the inaccessible drive.

How does File Recovery works

 Fortunately, the information that still remains on the storage system can be recovered and latter can be saved to a safe location. Recovery chances depend much on the data loss situation itself, but you should take into account that nothing is recoverable after overwriting. So you should never write anything to the storage until the last file is recovered.
My File Recovery software helps to get file back after data loss with maximum possible result. Commonly, data recovery operation starts with storage scan to find specific information (deleted files, lost file systems) and assembled structures of a damaged file system.

Recovery of overwritten data

 It is almost impossible to recover lost files after overwriting. Devices (with storage capacity from kilobytes to megabytes) utilize very wide magnetic trace and simple digital encoding to store the information which makes possible to read ‘traces of data’ after overwriting by initiating read ‘head’ sensitivity and position.
Modern systems have very thin tracks, high precision of head calibration and extremely high signal frequency near to the top of technology limit. Performance of modern chips only allows picking good discrete signal from disk platter and never identifies any ‘signal traces’. This procedure is impossible for any digital device.
